From Newsroom to Coaching Studio

Born in South Korea and raised in the United States, I've spent my entire career helping people find their voice. For over 25 years as a journalist and co-anchor for 6abc's consumer investigative news, I've mastered the art of clear, compelling communication under the most intense pressure.

My work has earned multiple Emmy Awards and national recognition, but what drives me isn't accolades—it's the impact of authentic storytelling. Through my consumer investigations, I've held powerful entities accountable and helped countless viewers navigate complex issues. This same rigor and empathy now fuel my coaching practice.

In 2018, I created #ThisIsAmerica, a documentary series exploring identity, belonging, and the Asian-American experience. This project crystallized my mission: to foster empathy and understanding by empowering diverse voices. The series earned national acclaim and reinforced my belief that everyone has a powerful story—they just need the tools to tell it.

My TEDx talk on representation and courage reached hundreds of thousands, but I witnessed something troubling: brilliant leaders paralyzed by imposter syndrome, diverse voices silenced by fear, and game-changing ideas lost to poor delivery. That's when I knew my next chapter.

Today, I combine broadcast journalism techniques with cutting-edge coaching to help executives, founders, and changemakers command any room—virtual or physical, boardroom or broadcast.

Why I Do This Work

After decades in journalism, I've seen too many brilliant minds go unheard because they couldn't articulate their vision. Too many women and people of color shrinking in rooms where their perspectives were desperately needed.

This isn't just about public speaking. It's about representation, equity, and ensuring that the best ideas—not just the loudest voices—shape our future.

My coaching philosophy centers on three pillars: Authoritative Expertise from real newsroom experience, Deep Empathy for each client's journey, and Radical Inclusivity that celebrates authentic voices.

A Personal Note from Nydia

I still remember my first live broadcast—hands shaking, voice trembling, certain everyone could see right through my confident facade. That terror taught me something crucial: even seasoned professionals feel fear. The difference is having the tools to channel it.

After 25 years on camera and coaching hundreds of leaders, I've learned that authentic confidence isn't about eliminating nerves—it's about speaking your truth despite them. Whether you're pitching investors, leading a team, or stepping in front of a camera for the first time, you have something valuable to say.

My mission is simple: to ensure your message is heard, your presence is felt, and your impact matches your expertise. Because when diverse voices speak with confidence, everyone benefits.

Let's unlock your most powerful communication together.
